From Rennes to Austin: A Tale of Two Sisters

Born and raised in Rennes, France, we now live just around the corner from each other in Austin, Texas. Our childhood was a blend of two worlds—school years in France and summers in Greece with our grandparents. This unique upbringing made us fluent in both French and Greek and gave us an early appreciation for different cultures.

Different Paths, Shared Dreams

For years, we followed separate journeys. One became a flight attendant in the U.S., traveling the world, while the other was a French literature teacher in Paris, immersed in stories and the magic of the city. In 2009, our paths converged again when the teacher crossed the Atlantic, moving her family closer to the traveler. All along, we held onto a shared dream: to one day create something together.

The Birth of Authenticaa

That opportunity finally came in 2012. After many brainstorming sessions, we discovered a passion that blended our love for culture, aesthetics, and storytelling. We wanted to create artwork that was both beautiful and functional, with designs rooted in noble materials and local craftsmanship. Authenticaa was born, with two "A"s for Alexia and Ariane—a name that reflects our bond and vision.

A Workshop in the Countryside

In 2018, we traded our steamy home garage for a scenic countryside workshop. Our space is part of a vibrant creative community, shared with other artisans, a horse trainer, and wonderful people who inspire us every day. We feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such talent and warmth.
